No more will you look for a real good seafood meal, because Ocea is now here to serve you one of the best seafood plates we’ve ever tasted in our days. Everything about the place set the mood to an awesome and relaxing experience. The restaurant is by the sides of a palace garden in Heliopolis, with a roof top for an outdoor seating area and overlooking a marvelous landscape with other restaurants standing by its side. The food’s smell hit you the minute you set foot through the wide open doors and you’re hooked.
We sat on the relevantly comfortable table I might say and the menu arrived with a wide, welcoming smile of the staff. One of the things we loved about the place is how open and welcoming it is; whether that is courtesy of the atmosphere or the staff themselves.
Going through the menu and choosing was a challenge, everything looked appealing and they all called out for us to try and taste. Tough battle, but we set our minds on a few plates and there were zero regrets whatsoever. Only amazing, mouthwatering seafood mania!
First to land on our table was the Smoked Salmon Salad with capers & sour cream; heaven! The salmon was marinated just the right way, it tasted right between sour and sweet and it was perfectly delicious. With the capers, the lemon and the spiced bread offered with it on the side, this smoked salmon salad was as perfect as any could be. Add to that our lemon-mint drink, the dinner was off to a great start.
Next was the sizzling smell of Shrimps Fajita and landing on our table we gawked for a minute at the yummy smell hitting our wide open senses. After the first taste it was decided then, no more chicken or meat fajitas, there will forever be Shrimps Fajita and the chef at Ocea is outstandingly talented with how marinated, dipped and grilled with vegetables and it was on point. After this we were thrilled with how full and satisfied we were but that didn’t stop our eyes from sparkling and our tummies from clapping at the Paella magnificently landing on our table last.

Being a Valencian rice dish – east cost of Spain – the Paella is not easy task to be perfectly and deliciously prepared but the chefs at Ocea are amazingly up to the challenge because that plate felt like you just took a dip in the ocean and turned into a fish. With the yellow rice, the tastefully marinated sea-fruits, the filled fish pieces, topped with a crab and mussels, the plate was perfection.
Ocea’s food is not short of amazing and there are still many dishes that we’re plenty excited to head over there and try. And don’t miss out their sushi menu, served Thursdays and Fridays.
