Netflix announces “Ma Waraa’ Eltabe’aa” the first Egyptian original series

Dr. Refaat Ismail fans rejoice, Netflix announced the commencement of production of the first original Egyptian series.
Netflix took to Twitter to publish the news; they will collaborate with director Amr Salama and producer Mohammed Hefzy.

This is the third Arabic series produced by Netflix and their first Egyptian venture.
The series is based on the best-selling books by the late Dr. Ahmed Khalid Tawfik who passed away in 2018.

The show will be filmed in Egypt during the 1960s, where the protagonist Refaat Ismail will encounter numerous supernatural occurrences, mainly inspired by Egyptian folk-tales and superstitions.
This is the second collaboration between Amr Salama and Mohammed Hefzy after their successful movie (Sheikh Jackson.)

They both expressed joy and excitement about this project.

The series consists of 81 novels that concluded in 2014, and we can’t express how exciting is the news of its adaptation to the loyal fans of all ages.

But fans started speculating and wondering about the casting choices, some even suggesting that actor Abd Elaziz Makhyon should play the lead role, while others thought that Yousra El Lozy will be a great young Maggie. And I personally think Bassel Khayat is the perfect embodiment of Lucifer’s character.

As excited as we are about this news, there’s no denying that we are a bit worried about the casting process.

Tell us who you think would make a decent Refaat Ismail and don’t forget to share this with your friends.
