5 Reasons Why Technology Is Ruining Relationships

In the last couple of years technology became unstoppable, we live, eat, work, sleep with our phones in hands. the rise of social media is rebellious. we literally document every event in our life, rather than living it, we care about checking in to a place more than we care about enjoying it, and as its affecting every aspect of our lives and our human interactions.

Lately i have been hearing about relationships ending because of an online fling, or a status update.

there are so many reasons why new technology is ruining relationships but we are only listing 5.

1.Fights became online:

An argument escalates quickly into a fight because you know..what’s app arguments! when your words are taken wrongly because you just can’t see the person’s face saying that specific thing that he/she meant no harm by saying it, communication became much harder. and even the arguments platform became wider with so many issues that we can fight about. mein di eli 3amaltlak like ? main dah eli allek sweetie ? enta olteli hatnam we lessa online and so on…

2. You became reachable when you most need space:

space is very healthy for your relationship, we all need alone time, but how can we get this alone time when we are not only available through phone calls, but also through texting, Facebook and so many other windows to your world. sometimes people feel exhausted from so much exposure even to the closest to their hearts.

3. You have no real quality time:

Dates do not have the same respect they used to have, rather than giving attention to each other’s and enjoy one another company, we became so focused on our phones even when we date. dinner dates became movie nights, getting dressed to actually go out became chilling at home with a movie playing and our phones in hands.

4. Cheating became easier:

It’s so easy to hide the other person, and sometimes it’s even possible to hide an entire relationship from the person you are cheating with, if your partner checks your phone you can easily accuse them of breaking your privacy, and if you co-use a computer, you can just keep your filthy business on your phone. cheating is not as hard as it used to be, victims should now hire a hacker not a private investigator!

5. The whole privacy dilemma:

the whole DO NOT touch my phone policy became just annoying, we tend to hide our phone like people used to hide their diaries, couples need to understand that a phone is just a phone, it should’t be hidden from your partner it gives a feeling of keeping a dark secret on it, and opens a door for doubt, but that for sure doesn’t give the other person the right to go through your profiles and to have access to them like their own.

Please let us know what do you think about these reasons and tell us if you have more!
